Every work of art is a kind of prayer, and it is a practice. It is our eternal reaching and it always “exceeds our grasp”. I believe that love exists beyond duality and every time we create with love we are drawn closer to our truth. Making art, the prayer, the practice, is the way I live in the world. It is grace and it is my voice. And it is a further grace, to share it with you.

Deirdre Laughton was born and raised in NYC. She is a largely self taught artist, who was a dancer and choreographer before she began her journey as a painter and mixed media sculptor..
She has studied art at FIT, NYU, The Art Students League, The Drawing Studio and Woodstock School of Art. Her primary mediums are oil, ceramic and crochet.
She has exhibited in NYC with the Times Square Lobby Gallery, The Port Authority Arts Show and the Ryan Chealsea-Clinton Center as well as the Brooklyn Arts Gym, The Bay Ridge Festival of the Arts, Gallery 440 and the Coop Cafe. Her crochet work is currently ondisplay at Caffe in Woodstock NY, and her work has recently shown at WAAM, WSA and Limner Gallery.
Deirdre now lives in West Hurley NY with great gratitude among the trees.
